An Uninvited Guest

As soon as Rioichi had seen the shadow on the moon, he ran. He flew over the rooftops, feeling the stare of the demon drilling into the back of his head. His heart pounded and his head pulsed. He had to get back home. He had to warn Koizumi and his children. Or- or- he put the breaks on that train of thought and ran even faster than before. He flung the door of his house open and continued to lock and ram as many pieces of furniture as he could against the Skillfully crafted and painted door.

He collapse don the ground and Koizumi rushed out of the kitchen and to his side. At her feet was their 5 year old son, Tsunehiro, who immediately scurried over to see what all the commotion was about. Rioichi gave his child a brief smile before turning to his wife.

'It's coming! I saw it's--- the moon shadow--- the yellow flames... they-' Rioichi gasped to catch his breath and began to sob. Koizumi's eyes widened.

'But he'll-' She gasped, and wrapped her arms around her son.

'Otosan, Okasan, what's wrong?' Tsunehiro climbed into his father's lap and hugged him. Rioichi nuzzled his son, and lifted him up. Tsunehiro laughed, and Rioichi told him to play a game with him.

'Now, you must be very quiet, not a word! Okasan and I will make loud scary noises, but you must not move! If you move or make a sound , you lose the game. Now, here' Rioichi scramble don the floor before levering up a trapdoor. 'You must go down there, follow the tunnel until you reach the end. As soon as there is no sound, you have won the game, and come out the end of the tunnel, okay?' Rioichi did his best not to cry, and smiled as warmly as he possibly could. Tsunehiro laughed and smiled back. He hugged his parents and began to climb down the ladder.
'I'm gonna win! Definitely! You can't scare me!'
Rioichi closed the trapdoor and turned to the window.

He could see the beast soaring through the sky, he was hypnotized by it's glowing eyes. Koizumi pulled the curtains shut and the pair backed away to the farthest corner of the room. Koizumi wrapped her arms around him and uttered a prayer, Rioichi nuzzled and kissed his wife, always keeping one eye locked on the door. Then he heard it-

A horrible cracking and screeching. A bashing and a thumping and a thudding. Koizumi froze in his arms and Rioichi held her even tighter.

The split of the door then a shadow, a screech and a scream.
Blood.
